How to Find and Install a Blogger Template
While the default themes are good enough, most bloggers would prefer to customize their blogs so that they accurately display what they write about. Fortunately, the Blogger dashboard offers a way to quickly install Blogger templates.
Search for a blogger template
There are many websites offering free or paid templates for accounts at <url>. Doing a search on "blogger templates" will open hundreds of websites that you can browse to find a template.
Blogger templates are usually delivered as XML files. Sites offering Blogger templates usually have a download link that will allow you to save the template on your computer. After saving the XML template file, installing the Blogger template includes the following steps:
1) Log in to your Blogger account. If you don't have a Blogger account yet, you will need to create one. Blogger accounts are free, and only an email address is required to get started.
2) Click on the "Layout" link corresponding to the blog for which you want to install a new template.
3) On the Layout tab, click on the "Edit HTML" link. This will take you to a screen that will allow you to download from your computer an XML file representing the Blogger template being installed.
4) Click on the "Browse" button at the top of the page. Using the overview window, find the XML file for your new template. Select the XML file and click "Open". The viewing window will close. Now click "Download" to install your new template.
5) If your new template was installed without any problems, you will see a message saying "Your changes have been saved". This is followed by a link to view your updated blog. Click on the link to make sure that your new template works as you expect.
